Mercedes-Benz is set to elevate the electric vehicle charging experience to remarkable new heights with the launch of its first high-power Charging Hubs. These state-of-the-art facilities will start operations in Atlanta, Chengdu, and Mannheim this October, kickstarting the brand’s ambitious plan to expand its charging infrastructure globally.
By the end of 2024, the luxury brand aims to roll out over 2,000 high-power charging points, with a long-term goal of creating more than 2,000 Charging Hubs, featuring over 10,000 charging points by the close of this decade.
The new Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs are engineered to offer fast, convenient, and sustainable charging, setting a new benchmark in the industry. They come equipped with intelligent charging management systems, providing up to 400 kW charging rates depending on the region and conforming to standard charging systems like CCS1, CCS2, NACS, and GB/T. This ensures that each vehicle charges at its maximum power rating, slashing customer wait times to a minimum.
Located at major traffic zones and select dealerships, these hubs are designed with the customer in mind, offering a safe and pleasant experience complete with amenities such as snacks, refreshments, and restrooms. Surveillance cameras and intelligent lighting solutions enhance safety while special canopies provide weather protection.
Additionally, Mercedes-Benz is making this network available to all EV drivers, although Mercedes customers get exclusive benefits like charging point reservations via the Mercedes-Benz me Charge service. The new hubs will be an integral part of the brand’s existing 1.3 million charging points, fully accessible through Mercedes-Benz’s Navigation with Electric Intelligence for seamless route planning.
